Bio
Originally from North Yorkshire, London-based Actor, Singer, Songwriter, Coach and Musical Director Lara de Belder completed a first class degree in Music at the University of Leeds before going on to train in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music. She has since worked as a performer and creator in theatre, film and concert, and is the co-writer and creator of new British comedy musical, Bird Brigade, alongside Luka Antony Bjelis. Lara's singing experience includes musical theatre and musical comedy, pop, rock, soul, folk, EDM, jazz and blues, as well as classical, choral and a cappella styles. Her musical passion for an eclectic range of genres has influenced her as a writer of her own original material debuting in 2021 with producer, Joe Rodwell, as well as in collaborations with other artists and producers, including Sony AMG-signed upcoming artist, EnEyeCee, with whom she is also a backing vocalist.
Lara is available for singing lessons/coaching online, and is one of the writers and vocalists on the team for Gift Of Music, creating bespoke tracks for clients for all sorts of special occasions.
Credits include: TV appearances on Channel 5's panel show, Comedy Bigmouths, SkyOne's Sing: Ultimate A Cappella with Cat Deeley, and frequent concerts/gigging across the UK and internationally. She originated the role of Olivia in the Pilot episode of Ves Radanov's The Vitches, has performed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and performed in David Graham's popular show, Eric's Christmas Party at The New Vic Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent.
She is the current lead singer for 25-year-running boogie woogie and blues band, the Red Stripe Band (Derry Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Jazz Festival, Pizza Express Jazz Club), has been a backing vocalist on various recording projects alongside artists such as Danielle Steers (SIX, Bat Out Of Hell) and is a frequent lead vocalist with the London Gay Big Band (Britain's Got Talent, Galway Jazz Festival, London Pride, Berlin Pride, Sitges Pride and Channel Island Pride main stages).
Lara was co-creator, musical director/arranger and member of London pop a cappella group, Belt Up who were featured on SkyOne, with other appearances including Crazy Coqs, The Other Palace and Pizza Express Live venues.
She is a co-creator and presenter of West End Misfits (The Other Palace, Pizza Express Live) and is the creator & director of LGBTQ female a cappella group, the Syncing Violets (Club A Cappella at The Other Palace).
